Wait what a minute what day is it?

Well tomorrow is Back To School Night. Or, any teachers' least favorite night ever.

First of all, since I live an hour's commute away from my school, I'm in for the Longest Day Ever (only tied by Graduation Night, but I never begrudge that one). Head off at 6:00, get home by 9:00.

Mind you, school has only been on for 4 weeks. And I have app. 230 kids with whom to become familiar. And they will be wandering by at all times (not just their period) which ratchets up the difficulty level a notch or two.

And there is absolutely no telling which kid, with family in tow, will show up. The best of the class, the worst, some random kid in the middle, it's all a crap shoot.

And, to throw in the mix, I am assigned the math-phobic kids. So a huge part of my job is to assure both the student and the parents that, yes, you can do this. It's all good, and you will get through this, I promise.

No pressure at all. See you on the flip side tomorrow. Or not.
