In honor of Elwood's birthday eve

I've loved the beautiful and glorious pic spams of EW that I've seen all day. Thank you so much to all of you who have posted them.

I can't do the picture stuff, so for me, it has to be words. And I ran into this quote tonight, which seemed to be the essence of F/S for me. So in honor of Elijah Wood's birthday, and with heartfelt thanks for what he and Sean Astin brought to the immortal words of Tolkien, I give you this:

What's the earth with all its art, verse, music, worth -
Compared with love, found, gained, and kept?

Robert Browning

Oh, that's beautiful and so very fitting.

Sorry for not having gotten back to you yet regarding your fics. I have had no time yet!

Thank you my dear!

(am still majorly behind on my reading, too.... Like some of the stories from your wonderful calendar!)

I'm so glad to hear I'm not the only one! I still have stories from one of the older hobbit smut challenges (October I think it was?) that I want to write fb for... *rolls eyes*

Some days it makes me really unhappy that I have so many things that I want to do and promised to do (even worse!) but don't get around to doing them. :(

Awww, that's a lovely line which I'd never come across before!

BTW hope you won't be moving over to The Other Place permanently! And how are you doing anyway? :-)

Oooh! Hi there!

Thanks, and I'm doing fine! The teacher I was replacing came back from leave after all *does dance of joy* so no more French and Spanish! (Although, a lot more came back to me than I thought it would. But really glad it was only first level!) So back to more temporary work here and there, and more math, thank goodness.

And how are you and how is that problem, plumbing-wise, going with your neighbor? And BTW too, am so glad you made it over, because it was just so lovely to meet you.

Ah, quel dommage! Le francais, c'est formidable, non?! Hehe! Yep, it was lovely to meet you too -- though I was dreading you asking me what x + y x the cube root of 17 was! ;-)

Me, I've just about recovered from the aftermath of the trip, plus coming down with that bug afterwards, and I'm feeling more back to normal now, though I still have a lot of catching up to do. Well, the hole is still there (re the plumbing thing) but neither of us have heard anything from the owner. And I'm just hoping it stays that way, otherwise I might have to sell some of my autographs to pay for it. Aarrgghhh!! No, I'm hoping it would never come to that ..

I suppose your weather is still lovely & sunny *sigh*. I probably won't stop reminiscing about it all for a l-o-n-g time to come!

Well, not much of the sun lately. As you may have heard, we've had plenty of that wet stuff and are up to the third or fourth rainiest seasons on record (which, of course, around here means since about 1870 - OMG! Ancient history!) So you certainly timed your trip perfectly!

More rain due this weekend, but I'm positive it will hold off until after the Oscars. Even if they won't be the same this year - sigh.

Just got another request to teach 2 months of Spanish I and II. What is with these people? Why do they think I can teach that? I am resisting it mightily - sticking with stuff I know, like the slope-intercept formula. *evil chuckle*

And good on the plumbing thing. My motto on bad stuff like that is let's all just ignore it, and maybe it will go away. *crosses fingers*
