A drabble for my default icon

Well, this is actually semyaza's fault, totally. And am also so tired of grading math homework I could scream, and frustrated since RL will absolutely not cooperate on the matter of writing time.

Sorry, just had to get that out. *g*

So. Icon Drabble. Second drabble ever.

The Green Dragon was bustling that evening, crowded with the early harvest trade. Frodo hadn’t meant to stop by for a half-pint, distracted and troubled as he was of late, and not much in the mood for company. But there was no point in depriving Sam of the pleasure, and he was all too aware that Sam was stealthily keeping him within sight whenever possible these last weeks.

So he raised his mug in answer to the affectionate salute to the Master of Bag End from those assembled, but his eyes never left Sam’s cheerful face, glowing in the firelight.



Never quite sure if titles count....

Awwwwwwwwwwwwww, that is lovely. And you know what would be even more lovely? A continuation of this little ficlet from you, just to assure us that Sam's love life revolves solely around Frodo and not some hobbit lass that a Mr. T from the UK seems to think Sam is sweet on. :D

Heh, thank you! Frodo has always been a hobbit who knows exactly what, or should I say, who he wants. Sam never really had a chance. Not that he's complaining, mind you. Absolutely not complaining.

Ah, thank you! You know, the curious thing is that originally I had this set it my mind as post-quest, and yet it works just as well, now that I think about it, as pre-quest. I suppose Frodo knew who he wanted at any time of his life! ;)
