So we went to see Dunkirk. Visually amazing, but I'd like to have seen a bit more on the gathering the troops together side of it. Plus gratuitous overuse of the Nimrod Variation. I see you, Zimmer.

Zimmer has only one tune in him but then that's true of so many film composers.

Well there is most of his stuff, and then there's the Pirates score. That's one of my pets. The movies are hit or miss (and lately waaaay more than miss), but that first score was gold.

We were supposed to hit 104 today, and I'm grateful for the 90 we got. All that smoke in the air is good for something, I guess. *cough* *wheeze* I envy you your (brief) thunderstorms.

The sun was a fuzzy orange ball hanging in a dishwater grey sky an hour ago when I looked.

It's been ages since I went to a movie.
