I just have to share this. There was an elderly couple sitting next to me at the showing this afternoon. They were obviously enjoying it greatly, from the comments they were making, and apparently weren't familiar with the books since everything seemed to be a surprise.

And when Frodo makes the comment towards the end about the Red Book, about leaving a little room still in it, the woman exclaimed, in great delight, "Oooh, a teaser!"

Oh, don't we all wish.

That is lovely! I love how LOTR seems to cut across age demographics.

Wouldn't it be cool to have a series about Sam and his family? *grin*
